Do I need to get payment to Code 4
to be registered or before I can attend a public safety class?
NO, Members of any public safety, criminal justice or government agency can attend a public safety class while payment is being processed or we can send a bill. Our priority is to get you into our class and assist you with your education needs. We can bill your agency after the class takes place. YOU STILL SHOULD PREREGISTER! If the class fills up or class plans change we will have no way of contacting you or knowing you are in the course. Many of our classes fill up - so we suggest preregistration whenever possible.
Do I need to preregister or prepay for a Traffic Safety or Seatbelt
Safety course.
NO, You do not have to preregister at this time for Traffic Safety or Seatbelt Safety courses. However you will have to prepay at the door with CASH. If you need to use a credit card or debit card to pay for your traffic class you will need to call our office ahead of time to pay and preregister - call us at 800-622-9391 if you need to pay with a card.
What is the best way to register my personnel in your classes?
The best way is to register them is on our website at www.code4.org. Go to the Regional Training Calendar page and there is generally a tuition savings for each person you register on line. We can also send each person registration confirmation when you register them on-line and enter email addresses.
You can also call our headquarters to register 800-622-9391.
You can also email us a large list (more than 10 people) or fax it to 541-732-1829.
Does Code 4 Certify the Public Safety Training Courses?
YES, Code 4 certifies each of the public safety training courses with the appropriate state agency or police academy when applicable to training needs in that state. We generally provide the appropriate state rosters at each course. We also provide attendance certificates which list the date, time, location, course topic and hours attended so that those can be filed for training credit or used to obtain CEU’s with your governing board or agency.
Does Code 4 currently have contracts with colleges or other entities
to provide CEU credits for disciplines such as Security or Private Investigators?
NO, We currently do not have an agreement with any entity for such credits. attendance certificates which list the date, time, location, course topic and hours attended so that those can be filed for training credit or used to obtain CEU’s with your governing board or agency. . If there is additional paperwork that you need signed for this process, contact the instructor during class or contact our office staff at 800-622-9391 to assist you.
Is Code 4 a True Nonprofit Organization ?
YES, Code 4 has received it's 501(c)(3) certification from the IRS. A copy of the letter is available in our office and we will be glad to mail you a copy. Our hearts follow our mission as well. Our staff truly understands budget constraints and travel constraints for public agencies and small businesses these days. You will see that most of our public safety classes are 1/4 or 1/2 the cost of the same or similar classes offered by other entities.
Where do the proceeds from public safety or traffic safety classes
go ?
Code 4 does not charge high tuition for persons to attend our training sessions. Therefore there is not a lot left over. However after paying for instructor fees, travel and our staff to travel and host classes, and classroom snacks, tuition monies are used for many of the following items:
Class advertising (mailings), office expenses (phones, toll free line, fax, copying, office rent), office manager (receptionist), bookkeeper wages and a CPA who oversees us on a contractual basis. We also have equipment expenses including office computers, laptops and LCD projectors for the classroom presentations. We also have website / email related fees.
Are you looking for instructors to teach other classes?
YES, Code 4 is always looking for new topics or course ideas. If you are interested in instructing for us please send us an outline or class information and your experience with teaching and with that topic. Your information can be sent to Joe@code4.org. It helps us to receive as much information as possible including teaching references and a video clip of your instruction. You can mail items to Joe Puckett as well – see the contact us section for mailing address.
How can my agency become a training partner, what is involved and what are the benefits for us?
Code 4 is always looking for training partners near larger cities. We trade free seats for you and your agency to help send out emails, training notices or teletypes to other agencies within the state. We also offer additional free seats for classes which go over 100 or 150 attendees. We also ask partner agencies to help us find a training room or conference room at a reduced rate. We pay the bills for the instructor, training room, travel for the instructor, etc. We just need your help with the advertisement and set up. If you are interested in being a partner send a note to Joe Puckett : Joe@code4.org.

Please make notes on checks/stubs when possible i.e., who the check is for (names of students) or what class this is payment for (if you have a large number of attendees in a class). It helps our bookkeeping staff to be more accurate in our payment processing. This is especially important for entities such as county organizations. We may get checks from a county accounting department and have attendees from their probation department, sheriff's office, animal control, etc and for different classes. Thanks for any assistance on this issue.
