Do I need to get payment
to Code 4 to be registered or before I can attend a public safety class?
NO, Members of any public safety or government agency can attend a public
safety class while payment is being processed or we can send a bill.
Our priority is to get you into our class and assist you with your education
needs. We can bill your agency after the class takes place. YOU STILL
SHOULD PREREGISTER! For your convenience you will want to preregister.
Many of our classes fill up - so we suggest preregistration whenever
possible.
Do I need to preregister or prepay for a Traffic
Safety or Seatbelt Safety course.
NO, You do not have to preregister at this time for Traffic Safety or
Seatbelt Safety courses. However you will have to prepay at the door
with CASH. If you need to use a credit card or debit card to pay for
your traffic class you will need to call our office ahead of time to
pay and preregister - call us at 800-622-9391 if you need to pay with
a card.
What is the best way to register my personnel
in your classes?
You can use any of the methods we have in the contact us section of
this website. Call us at 800-622-9391 or send us email at reservations@code4.org
or send us a fax at 541-732-1829. With large numbers 5 or more it is
probably easiest for our staff to email or fax the list. We also like
to make sure we have accurate spelling of attendee names for the certificates
that are preprinted for them to receive during the class.
Are Code 4's public safety training classes certified?
YES, Code 4 certifies each of the public safety training courses with
the appropriate state agency or police academy. We generally provide
the appropriate state rosters at each course. We also strive to cross
certify courses for your convenience. For instance, our courses held
in Boise or Meridian, Idaho also have attendance/certification rosters
for Oregon public safety personnel so that those persons can drive the
short distance across the state line to attend.
Does Code 4 currently have contracts with colleges
or other entities to provide CEU credits for disciplines such as Security
or Private Investigators?
NO, We currently do not have an agreement with any entity for such credits.
HOWEVER we do provide attendance certificates with times listed on them
to assist you in applying for CEU's with your appropriate governing
authority for credits. If there is additional paperwork that you need
signed for this process, contact the instructor during class or contact
our office staff at 800-622-9391 to assist you.
Is Code 4 a True Nonprofit Organization ?
YES, Code 4 has received it's 501(c)(3) certification from the IRS.
A copy of the letter is available in our office and we will be glad
to mail you a copy. Our hearts follow our mission as well. Our staff
truly understands budget constraints and travel constraints for public
agencies and small businesses these days. You will see that most of
our public safety classes are 1/4 or 1/2 the cost of the same or similar
classes offered by other entities.
Where do the proceeds from public safety or traffic
safety classes go ?
Code 4 does not charge high tuition for persons to attend our training
sessions. Therefore there is not a lot left over. However after paying
for instructor fees, travel and our staff to travel and host classes,
and classroom snacks, tuition monies are used for many of the following
items:
Class advertising (mailings), office expenses (phones, toll free line,
fax, copying, office rent), office manager (receptionist), bookkeeper
wages and a CPA who oversees us on a contractual basis. We also have
equipment expenses including office computers, laptops, VCR's and LCD
projectors for the classroom presentations. We also have website / email
related fees.
Are you looking for instructors to teach other
classes?
YES, Code 4 is always looking for new topics or course ideas. If you
are interested in instructing for us please send us an outline or class
information and your experience with teaching and with that topic. Your
information can be sent to Code4comm@aol.com. Our Board of Directors
will review the information and get back with you.

Please make notes on checks/stubs when possible i.e., who the check
is for (names of students) or what class this is payment for (if you
have a large number of attendees in a class). It helps our bookkeeping
staff to be more accurate in our payment processing. This is especially
important for entities such as county organizations. We may get checks
from a county accounting department and have attendees from their probation
department, sheriff's office, animal control, etc and for different
classes. Thanks for any assistance on this issue.
